Pantalica Cheese Company's commitment to quality and adherence to Italian family tradition has paid off for the Pitruzzello cheese makers. The business has been running successfully since 1973, when it was founded by Sebastiano Pitruzzello. The company's name is derived from the village in Italy where Sebastiano was brought up and began to make parmesan, pepato and pecorino cheese. Pantalica's product line has expanded to include other cheeses, such as cream cheese, mascarpone, mozzabella and bocconcini. All products are available throughout major supermarket stores in Australia and overseas.

The entire Pitruzzello family is involved in the business, from production to sales, distribution and administration. The business is still operated by Sebastiano, with daily assistance from sons Biagio and Silvio (pictured).

According to Sebastiano Pitruzzello, "our success in the local and export markets is due to the extra care and attention a family-sized business can devote to the manufacturing process. For the consumer, this ensures a more consistent and better quality product."

Recently, Pantalica Cheese has relocated into new premises which provide state-of-the-art packaging and despatch facilities, as well as advanced cool stores.
